It is my pleasure to welcome you to Amherst Elementary School. As a graduate of Amherst County Public Schools I am honored to live, work, and give back to the community that has given so much to me. After high school I attended the University of Virginia where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's of Teaching Degree. I have been an educator for 22 years in Amherst County Public Schools, teaching fourth, fifth, and eighth grades and serving as lead teacher and mentor. In 2020 I received my Doctorate in Leadership Studies from the University of Lynchburg. As the pandemic created a need for virtual learning I became the Elementary Lead for ARA (Amherst Remote Academy) and then a Virtual Learning Support Specialist for students attending Virtual Virginia.
At AES we work together to foster relationships between families and school in order to help each child reach their academic potential. We live by our Panther motto of going F.A.R. by being focused, accountable, and respectful everyday!
