It is my pleasure to serve as AES principal for the 2022-2023 school year. As a graduate of Amherst County Public Schools I am honored to live, work, and give back to the community that has given so much to me. After high school I attended the University of Virginia where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's of Teaching Degree. I have been an educator for 20 years in Amherst County Public Schools, teaching fourth, fifth, and eighth grades and serving as lead teacher and mentor.
In 2020 I received my Doctorate in Leadership Studies from the University of Lynchburg. As the pandemic created a need for virtual learning I became the Elementary Lead for ARA (Amherst Remote Academy). Last year I was stationed at Amherst Elementary School as the Virtual Learning Support Specialist for students attending Virtual Virginia and administrative help for Amherst Elementary School. I am excited to remain at Amherst Elementary as principal and continue to work with the students, faculty, and families that have become my community.
