Amherst Elementary School

Rooted in over five decades of educational excellence, Amherst Elementary School (AES) is proud to be a place where all of our student Panthers ROAR.  At Amherst Elementary, we believe that ALL students can be leaders, learners, and kind community members. Our ROARS expectations guide behavior throughout the school and help create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone.

Originally opened in 1970 as a school for grades 4–7, Amherst Elementary transitioned in the early 1980s to serve PreK through 5th grade students. This shift reflected the school’s growing role as a foundation for lifelong learning in the Amherst community.

Whether it's a student's first day of PreK or their final walk across the stage in 5th grade, every child is known, supported, and celebrated.
