Amherst County Public Schools provided at-home learning for all K-12 students this week. Scores for the PBLs will not have a negative impact on any student's final grade. Teachers may use the score to replace a low or missing grade in the coming semester. Again, this learning opportunity will not hurt their grades. There are a variety of PBLs to choose from: if a parent feels one is too difficult, they may select one from a lower grade. A request for a different PBL can be made directly to the teacher or principal.

Your student has been sent home with a USB drive that contains the PBL materials.
Along with the materials sent home your student also received a FAQ document regarding the PBLs.
Please review those materials and contact Mrs.Crews with any feedback or questions you may have.
The PBL materials should not be completed by the student until our at home learning week from February 8-12.
PBLs will be available on CanVas in their reading and math courses for review and completion as well.
below you will find a copy of the FAQ document for reference.

On October 26th - October 30th, Amherst Elementary will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. During this time, students will learn about drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products and how they can negatively affect their bodies. They will also learn about peer pressure and most importantly, how to say NO if they ever find themselves in a situation where others are offering them dangerous substances. The week will consist of lots of fun activities and an opportunity for students to sign a pledge to be drug, alcohol, and tobacco free.
