                   What are we learning about this week in third grade?                  April 22nd-26th

   This week students will be reviewing many readings skills in preparation for the reading SOL test on May 2nd.  Students will be remediated on drawing conclusions and summarizing with nonfiction.  Students will also be working independently on their historical fiction choiceboard and novel.  In language, students will be learning how to use an index and writing poetry.

                                 Homework this Week:


Reading- read your favorite book for 10 mins. each night  
Math- .   
Word Study- choose three activities to complete from the choiceboard

Rules & Expectations:  As a class, the students will decide on the rules and expectations for the classroom.  I have three rules that I expect from my students:  Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Make Good Choices.  In my classroom, we practice the three strikes: warning, time loss of recess, and write a note home.  I feel it is important for students to take reponsibility for their actions by writing a note home to their parents explaining their behavior.  As always, your support is appreciated.
